The 378-foot
High Endurance Cutter class are the largest cutters, aside
from the three major Icebreakers, ever built for the Coast
Guard. These cutters were introduced to the Coast
Guard inventory in the 1960s. ommissioned in 1967. Highly
versatile and capable of performing a variety of missions,
these cutters operate throughout the world's oceans.

Eagle Item: M-259
Three mast
barque with square
rigged foremast and fore-and-aft sails on it's main mast. The
US Coast Guard Barque Eagle is perhaps the most famous naval
training ship on the high seas today. Built in 1936 by
the German Navy as a training ship for the German fleet
before WWII. Eagle was christened The Horst Wessel in
1936 but claimed as a war prize in 1946 by the US Revenue
Cutter Service (what later became the US Coast Guard).
This
meticulously crafted model has real cloth sails and cotton rigging lines.
